bLink App: Featuring Bluetooth Beacon Notification Technology

Our bLink email and text appointment reminders application is still in the process creating our bLink App; but it’s coming soon. The bLink App will provide your patient’s mobile device an appointment reminders notification, financial transaction notification, and patient education notifications. This will allow you to uniquely communicate with your patients more efficiently with a branded bLink App from Solutions by Design. There is a lot of development going on here these days.  bLink 2.0 is a major undertaking that will add a significant amount of new features to its functionality.

The long awaited Newsletters and Survey feature will provide our users with the tools necessary to allow our users to send Newsletter to Existing/ Active Patients as well as all “Patients of Record”.

This month we are pushing out a new feature that will allow you to automatically send a “Request for Review” email. This specific email can be synced to any appointment “type”.  Based upon the appointment types designated in your PMS.  The same functionality applies here as it does to your Montage Board Reviewer functionality. Reviews once completed and submitted go to ANDI.  Once ion ANDI you can accept them and respond with a request to post.  From there your patients can post reviews about your practice to popular review sites such as Yelp and Google Reviews.

Create your Own Email Types:

This new feature will allow you to add and delete any of the email opportunities in bLink.  Want to add an email specific to “How are you Feeling” to be sent right after the bonding appointment? Want to add an SBD video on how to deal with any possible pain…you can set up your emails with your own message with your designated attachments.

We will be rolling out new updates to our bLink product in the near future, including the big update bLink 2.0. The rewrite of bLink Pro, bLink 2.0, with all new features sure to excite staff and patients alike. Along with bLink 2.0, the bLink mobile application is on its way. The bLink app is almost complete and is slated for a 2015 release.

bLink FAQ:

Q: How do I access the bLink Doctor Portal?

A: To access you bLink Doctor Portal, you will need your ANDI username and password combination. If you do not have an ANDI username and password, have someone who does log into www.andisolutions.com page and create a user for you. Once this is done, ANDI will email you your password to the email you set as your Username. From here I advise you get the password and login to ANDI and view your user in the “Users” tab then change the password to something more memorable. Once you have the username and password go to my.orthoblink.com and sign in.

Bug Fixes: We want to remind OrthoTrac users that you have the ability to leave notes in the billing area of your patient’s treatment charts. These financial notes can either be marked as public or private. Please be advised that we have a created a filter that makes sure that patients cannot see your private ones within their bLink accounts. We would like to thank Joe Kennedy of Wentz Orthodontics for making us aware of this feature.

As we previously announced bLink 2.0 is currently in the works. Progress coming along great, and the release date is slated for 2015. bLink 2.0, our rewrite of bLink Pro, will offer new features as well as an integration with Cloud based versions of your management software. Also we are adding a complete suite of management tools that will take the user experience to the next level.






As the year comes to an end we get closer to the release date of E-Toons, the animated cartoon reminder and patient education series. We are on track with the completion of animations; there are currently 5 of the 11 animations complete. Our E-Toons will be located under the Appointments, Patient Education and Events tabs.



As we grow  we continue to welcome more and more bLink users. We know there are other patient reminders programs available, but we are very different from our competition. What’s New?

bLink 2.0 is almost complete. bLink 2.0, our rewrite of bLink Pro, will offer many new user features as well as offer integrations with Cloud based versions of your management software. We are adding a complete suite of management tools to provide instant messaging to our users advising of any missed syncs, conflict, or errors. The user interface will be easier to navigate and more interactive for administrators. We send out millions of emails through bLink and this update to the database will make the process more efficient. bLink 2.0 is scheduled to be released in the coming months.



Soon bLink will integrate fully with all cloud-based practice management applications. You’ll have the same awesome and reliable service and features, but it will be pulling cloud-stored files instead of locally stored files. bLink Cloud 9 integration is scheduled to be done in the upcoming weeks, it is currently in the final steps of completion. Be on the lookout for the official release date.

For our Oasis users, the bLink Oasis integration update is currently in test mode and will be upgraded in a few weeks.

By now you have heard about our new bLink E-toons animated cartoon messaging. E-Toon is making progress and we are ecstatic about the upcoming release. Our E-toons will be located under the Appointments, Patient Education and Events tabs.

What’s New?

E-Toons making great progress our designers are working hard to get these animations pushed out soon. The complete 10 E-toons series will be located under the Appointments, Patient Education and Events tabs. These animations will bring a more engaging aspect to blink, presenting information to blink users in a new and fun way.

We are working on integrating another SBD- developed application with bLink.  Referralware is designed to link your referring dentists to your practice. ReferralWare is a web-based application that allows your referring dentists to complete a referral form, submit information regarding treatment and print a branded referral form with a directional map to your office. Once the referral is made, the system automatically tracks the patient and submits a reminder to the patient to ensure the call for the initial appointment. So be on the lookout for this integration in the near future.

Along with these additions to bLink we are also in the process of rewriting bLink on a new frame. What this means for our users that we will be able to add on more features and give you more control as an administrator of your bLink program.

Bug Fixes: Although there are no current bug fixes we do want to remind users that in order for your patients to receive text reminders they must first register their email with bLink. Once the patient has bLink linked to their email they may then turn on text reminders. If you have any questions about this feature please contact our support team.

As with all technology products… change is constant.  Changes in operating systems, browsers, practice management applications, security software are almost a weekly occurrence and require continual support. Combining this dynamic environment with the fact that we continue to add features and functionality to bLink to enhance the user experience, requires top-notch communications.  Thus the introduction of “bLink News”. Our goal is to distribute information on each of our products monthly so you are aware of any new features, bugs and fixes as well as tips on what other practices may be doing to maximize the impact of using our product.

What’s New with bLink

 

We have added several new features to bLink this past quarter including:

• Appointment Confirmations from emails…confirmations from text are on their way!

• The Mass Email Feature was pushed out in January and in seeing the volume of use worldwide… an appreciated feature.

• A Resend Feature was added to allow you to have an instant response to your patients that say they didn't receive an email reminder.  A simple push of a button will resend the email and confirmation that the patient is indeed receiving messages and that each has provided the correct email credentials and has set his or her settings properly.
  
  We are also adding this to the Text feature in the next update.

• Dolphin 5.5 Integration…this was a challenge due to the varied table structures in the new version of Dolphin Management. This was pushed out in April and seems to be working fine.

• Split Email and Text Distribution Times were requested from several of our clients.  This was developed, tested and released last quarter as well.  Now patients can have varied times for text or email notifications.

 

Technical Notes and Information

You should have received a notification that we had a glitch in May that caused a backlog and timeout on emails.  This issue was resolved.  The reason was due to the massive volume of emails being generated worldwide by bLink.  The queries overlapped causing the conflict.

Tips: If you are a tops user, please remember to leave the server on 24-7.  We still receive a few calls per month on syncing issues that are caused by a doctor or staff-person turning off the Mac that contains bLink Sync.

 

In the Works

bLink Aire (bLink 2.0) will be introduced this fall at the fall meetings. bLink Aire is a complete rewrite of bLink Pro and will offer many, many new user features as well as offer integrations with Cloud Based Versions of your management software. Solutions by Design Announces New bLink Security

Solutions by Design is one step ahead of the game with our new security program for bLink Patient Reminder and Messaging software. With growth in this space beyond our expectations, we are continually implementing new features to meet our client’s needs. With our volume of messages exceeding 5 million, we have taken the steps to enhance security to prevent any potential problems.

For all of you long time bLink users that run on a Mac platform, we have eliminated the bLink Bridge feature and now directly log into bLink from browser. If you have a bLink icon on the desktop other than a browser shortcut, we recommend that you delete this icon and create a new shortcut.

 

If the bLink login looks like this on your desktop, right click on it and select “Delete”.



Log into ANDI and select blink. Choose Download and select either Mac or Windows.   

This will download a zip file.

Click on the zip file and select both the ANDI and bLink icons. Drag them both to the desktop.

That's it! You now have the most up to date and secure application available!
