Montage: Cleaning Your Montage Board

Solutions By Design

Solutions by Design and the CDC Recommended Cleaning Montage Board Every Day.

In view of the evidence that transmission of many healthcare acquired pathogens (HAPs) is related to contamination of near-patient surfaces and equipment, the CDC recommends that all practices develop programs to optimize the thoroughness of high touch surface cleaning…this includes your Montage Board.

Good hand hygiene is the number one way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Solutions by Design asks that you encourage all patients to wash their hands with soap and water, and dry them thoroughly before and after using the Montage Board. Patients can also use alcohol-based hand rub if they don’t have immediate access to soap and water. We also ask that you designate a team member to clean Your Montage Board every day.

How to Properly and Safely Clean your Montage Display:
  • Always use a microfiber cloth to clean your Montage Touch Display.
  • Shut down your Montage Board.
  • Wipe the screen, applying very slight pressure, using straight wipes horizontally across the touch screen.
  • You can use gentle cleaning fluid designed for monitors, but it is best to use a spray bottle filled with equal parts distilled water and white vinegar. Additional disinfecting can be done with 32% isopropyl alcohol.
  • Always spray cleaning solutions onto a clean microfiber cloth. Do not spray cleaning solutions directly on your Montage touch Screen.
  • When you’re done wiping down your Montage board with your cleaning/disinfecting solution, wipe it again with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
  • Don’t turn on the device until the screen is dry.
  • While it may be tempting to reach for a bottle of Windex or some other general cleaning product, don’t! Harsh chemicals can wreak havoc on your Montage touch display.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Cleaning Your Montage Board
  • Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia or abrasives to clean your montage board.
  • Do not use rough or hard cloths to wipe down on the touch screen.
  • Do not apply heavy pressure while wiping down the touch screen.
  • Do not spray cleaning/disinfecting solution directly on the touch screen.
  • Do not clean the touch screen when it is on.
  • Do make sure your touch screen is completely dry before turning your Montage Board back on.

If you have any questions regarding how you should safely and effectively clean your Montage Board, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
